HOUSING Affordable quality housing has always been at the forefront of CPLC's comprehensive service system. CPLC's housing programs offer counseling services to clients for mortgage default, tenant/landlord issues, pre and post purchase and fair housing. We develop and build affordable single-family housing for low-income families in economically distressed neighborhoods and rehabilitate homes under federally, funded programs.HOUSING COUNSELING & EMERGENCY ASSISTANCEThe program provides mortgage default and rental delinquency counseling for low to moderate income residents. During 2004, two hundred forty four (244) households received counseling services.HOME PURCHASING and CLOSING COST ASSISTANCECPLC provides homebuyer education, offers workshops and individual counseling. During 2004, four hundred seventy six (476) households received homebuyer education.SENIOR HOUSINGIn order to address the needs of Arizona's growing senior population, a comprehensive, center based program that offers advocacy and case management services, which include but are not limed to medical checkups, safe transportation, recreation, entertainment, and companionship. 7,406 senior adults and handicapped individuals were provided congregate and home delivered meals. CPLC has a total of three hundred fifty-three (353) senior housing units.CPLC's NOGALES SELF-HELP HOUSING PROGRAMThis program provides opportunities for families in rural Arizona to cash in on ""sweat equity"" by providing their own labor. Families participating in the self-help homeownership program are able to defray housing costs, become more self-sufficient, and develop pride in their homes and communities.SOMERTON IMMIGRATION PROGRAMCertified staff assisted families in securing citizenship and legal residence in the United States and assisted individuals with getting their immigration cards. Clients are represented in immigration courts and all required immigration forms are completed for the adults and children. In addition, there is a Notary Public on site to notarize and translate for clients. During 2004, three thousand two hundred ninety (3,290) clients received the following services: citizenship classes, GED, English as a second language, counseling, information and referral, and adult basic education classes.AFFORDABLE HOUSINGProvides affordable housing to populations including the elderly, handicapped or disabled. CPLC has 3,665 units in various properties located throughout the state of Arizona.
