Indian Health Service Fund: Monies Received Directly From The Federal Government Through Indian Health Service (Ihs) Pursuant To P.L. 93-638 Are Accounted For In A Single Fund. The Fund Accounts For Several Activities Which Are Performed To Accomplish A Variety Of Objectives Which Include: Hospital In-Patient And Out-Patient Care, Aniak Sub-Regional Clinic Out-Patient Care, Com Munity Health Care, Dental Services, Eye Care, Emergency Medical Services, Mental Health, Home Care, Substance Abuse Treatment, Injury Prevention And Other Preventative Health Services. These And Other Services Are Provided Through The Hospital Facility In Bethel, The Sub-Regional Clinic In Aniak, Community Health Aides, Outreach Workers, Clinics And Education. State Of Alaska Funds: These Funds Are Used To Account For Monies Received From And Expended On Behalf Of The State Of Alaska, The Majority Of Which Come From The Department Of Health And Social Services-Budget Request Unit (Bru). Department Of Health And Social Services-Bru: This Fund Sub-Categorized Into Three Primary Areas: Public Health, Alcohol And Drug Abuse Counseling And Mental Health. The Public Health Objectives Include: Emergency Medical Services, Accident And Injury Control And Health Aide Services. Remote Maintenance Worker: Used To Provide Support For Remote Maintenance Workers Stationed In The Lower Yukon-Kuskokwim Delta Region. The Maintenance Is Provided For Existing Sanitation Facilities. Supplemental Food Program For Women, Infants And Children (Wic): Used To Improve The Health And Nutritional Status Of Low Income Pregnant, Breast Feeding And Postpartum Women, As Well As Infants And Children Up To Age Five. Regional Inpatient Psychiatric Service Planning: To Account For A Grant To Plan A Process That Includes A Needs Assessment, In-Patient Program Plan, Facility Needs Assessment And Plan, Community Linkages Plan, And Financial Feasibility Study For Regional Inpatient Psychiatric Services At The Yukon-Kuskokwim Delta Regional Hospital. Tobacco Prevention And Control: For Development By An Alliance Committee For Planning And Implementation For A Common Goal Of Healthier, Tobacco-Free Residents. Rural Human Services: This Grant Provides Funds For Training Mental Health Paraprofessionals In The Areas Of Administrative Tasks, Clinical Tasks, Supervision And Continuing Education For Coordinators While They Are Performing Their Tasks. Home Care: Used To Account For Monies Spent For Home Health Care. Residential Diagnostic And Treatment: This Facility Is Funded For Psychiatric Evaluation And Treatment For Children Of The Yukon-Kuskokwim Delta Region. Chemical Misuse Treatment And Recovery: To Account For A Grant To Provide Treatment And Recovery Services For Residents With Chemical Misuse Problems In Three Villages: Chevak, Hooper Bay And Scammon Bay. Phillips Alcohol Treatment Center - Inmate Beds: Funds Provided By The Department Of Corrections To Pay For A Portion Of The Cost Of Beds At Phillips Alcohol Treatment Center. Corrections-Dental: This Contract Is To Provide Dentl Care To Persons Incarcerated At The Yukon-Kuskokwim Correctional Center. Corrections - Medical: This Contract Provides Medical Care To Persons Incarcerated At The Yukon-Kuskokwim Correctional Center. Wic Immunizations: This Is A Pilot Test Program To Determine How To Most Readily Deliver Wic/Immunization Services In Remote Locations. Tulusak Health Clinic: This Grant Provides Matching Funds For Equipment To Perform The Work On The Tulusak Clinic. Ykhc Is A Subrecipient Of This Grant. Alaska Youth Initiative (Ayd: Ayi Is A State-Sponsored Mental Health Delivery System Created To Support Children And Their Families Experiencing Multidimensional Problems Associated With Mental Illness And Severe Emotional Disturbances And Who Are At High Risk Of Institutional Placement Out Of The State. Hiv Peer Education: This Program Trains Youth Leaders To Educate Other Youth In Hiv Prevention Strategies. Community Action Against Substance Abuse (Caasa): This Program Targets Youth At Risk For Substance Abuse And Provides Ecational And Sober Recreational Opportunities For These Individuals. Prevention Of Fire Related Injuries: Developing A Home Fire Safety Program That Will Be Taught To Home Owners During Installation Of Smoke Detectors In Emmonak, St. Mary'S, Hooper Bay, Upper Kalskag, Lower Kalskag, Sleetmute, Newtok, Nightmute And Quinhagak. Family Spirit: Family Spirit Program Is To Keep Children In Homes When Substance Abuse Is A Factor In ""Out Of Home"" Placement. Other Federal Funds: These Funds Are Used To Account For Monies Received From And Expended On Behalf Of Federal Funding Sources To Accomplish Objectives In A Variety Of Health Programs. These Funds Also Include I.H.S. Pl 93-638 Funds Passed Through The Alaska Native Tribal Health Consortium. Supported Housing - Hud: This Program Provides Funds For Construction And Operation Of A Supported Living Facility For Homeless Mentally Ill Persons, As Well As Support Services For The Residents. Alaska Native Tribal Health Consortium: These Funds Primarily Provide For Specif Ntenance And Improvement. These Funds Included An Electrical Line, Medical Equipment, Main Entrance Upgrade, Water Tank Improvements, Emergency Room Remodel, Doc Upgrade And Village Clinic Equipment. Village Sobriety Project: To Improve Individual, Family And Community Well Being In Selected Villages In The Yukon-Kuskokwin Delta By Providing Substance Abuse, Mental Health And Other Human Services Counseling And Support Services Consistent With Traditional Yupik And Cupik Cultural Values. Ihs Statewide Training Assistance: These Funds Provide A Variety Of Training For Water Plant Operators And Utility Managers Including: Water Plant Operator Certification, Operator Technology, Water Plant Operation And Utility Management Training. Usda - Remote Maintenance Worker: To Provide Support To Remote Maintenance Workers Stationed In The Upper Yukon-Kuskokwim Delta Region. Maintenance Is Provided To The Existing Sanitation Facilities. Crisis Respite Center Building Construction: These Funds, Passed Through Orutsararmuit Native Council, Are Used For The Construction Of A Residential Facility In Bethel For Mental Health Patients In Need Of Limited Assistance In Caring For Themselves. Toksook Bay Clinic Construction Project: These Funds, Passed Through The City Of Toksook Bay, Were Used To Complete The Health Clinic Portion Of Toksook Bay'S Multipurpose Building. Lower Kalskag Clinic Construction: Materials And Services Were Provided To Lower Kalskag For The Purpose Of Completing The New Clinic Located In Lower Kalskag. Crooked Creek Clinic Construction: Materials And Services Were Provided To Crooked Creek Community Council For The Purpose Of Constructing A Health Clinic Located In Crooked Creek. Kwigillingok Clinic Construction: These Funds, Passed Through The Native Village Of Kwigillingok, Were Provided For The Construction Of The Health Clinic Project. Alakanuk Clinic Construction: These Funds, Passed Through The Alakanuk Traditional Council Of Alakanuk, Were Provided For The Purpose Of Constructing The Alakanuk Traditio Nic. Holy Cross Clinic Construction: These Funds, Passed Through The Holy Cross Tribal Council, Were Provided For The Purpose Of Constructing The Holy Cross Health Clinic. Ana Sub-Regional Architectural & Engineering Design: Used To Design The Sub-Regional Clinic Models Through A&E Design Services, Including Bid Documents And Cost Estimates. Special Diabetes Programs For Indians: Used For Primary, Secondary, & Tertiary Diabetes Prevention And Control Program For The Diabetes Mellitus (Dm) Problem That Is Prevalent In Western Cultures. Transitional Living Operations: Funds Received Are Used For The Transitional Living Facilities Expenses. Rus Distance Learning: Used To Account For A Grant For Purposes Of Establishing A Distance Learning And Medical Link Network That Will Benefit Rural Residents. Hiv/Aids (Chugachmiut Subcontract): To Develop And Implement Regional Hiv/Aids Case Management Systems Which Coordinate And Integrate Services For People Living With Hiv/Aids In Rural And Remote Alaska Native Village In A Manner Which Supports Their Stay In The Village Or As Close To Home As Possible; And To Develop Resources And Offer Services Which Reduce Transmission Of Hiv Among Village Residents. Epidemiology And Risk Factors-(Rsv): To Account For Funds Used To Determine Rates, Severity And Seasonability Of Rsv In Alaska Native Infants And Children In The Yukon-Kuskokwim Region. Americorp Vista Project: To Train Vista Personnel In Safe Sanitation Practices In The Villages Of Western Alaska. Other Funds: Ykhc Maintains Separate Funds To Account R Grants And Contracts From Non-Federal And Non-State Sources Under This Category To Accomplish Objectives In A Variety Of Health Programs. Murdock Trust Prenatal Care: Used To Account For Expenditures Made Under A Grant From M.J. Murdock Charitable Trust. The Primary Purpose Of The Grant Is To Establish An Adequate Updated Capability For Providing Quality Prenatal Health Care. Calista Gallagher Alcoholism: This Fund Was Established To Initiate And Monitor Village Alcoholism Educational Programs. Lush Fish Study: Funding For This Project Is Used To Study The Level Of Mercury In The Muscle Tissue Of Fish Caught In Different Areas Relative To Mining Operations In The Bethel Area. Cat Scan: Used To Account For Funds Raised For Ykhc To Possibly Purchase A Cat Scan Machine For Patient Services. Cha Manual: Used To Account For Funds Contributed By Various Organization In The State Of Alaska For The Purpose Of Revising And Publishing The Community Health Aide Manual. Seward Training: This Fund Is Used To Account For Remaining Funds From A Statewide Community Health Aide Training Center That Have Been Distributed To Training Programs Through The Alaska Native Health Board. Revenue Sharing: Used To Account For Revenue Sharing Monies Received From The City Of Bethel To Enhance Ykhc'S General Health Programs. Rac Carryover Funds: Used To Account For Funds Contributed By Various Organizations In The State Of Alaska For The Purpose Of Monitoring Community Health Aide Training Centers' Compliance To Program Standards. Avcp-Title Vi Older Americans: Funding Related To This Grant Is Passed Through From The Association Of Village Council Presidents. Monies Are To Be Used For The Purposes Of Providing Meals And Transportation To Native Alaskan Elders As Well As Promoting Inter-Generation Sharing About Nutrition.
